Prepaid Legal – An Objective Review From A Non Member

There is a lot of contention regarding Prepaid Legal Services. Prepaid Legal reps were after me, but I did not join. Since I am involved in another MLM business, but have some understanding because of my experience with Prepaid, I figured I would try & help any of you who have reservations about the company. Checking Google Adwords reveals there is still a huge interest in this company, even though they’ve been around for 30 years.

I’ll reveal to you my personal opinion on the experience that I had with Prepaid Legal Services. Back when I got introduced to my existing MLM business, I had been doing research for awhile. I had been pursued by Amway, Prepaid Legal, MonaVie & Young Living among other biz opps, before I made the choice of my current MLM.

My encounter with Prepaid was not horrible, but was revealing as a result of the knowledge I’ve accumulated since that time. Many people have made the accusation of a Prepaid Legal Services scam. As a result of that I took a look the BBB report, and found 244 complaints in the past 36 months. They have averaged around 1.5 million joining per year recently. Out of 4.5 million joining, 244 seems to be a relatively small percentage.

On a percentage basis that’s about .000005 percent of new people withan issue bad enough to file a complaint. That’s a relatively low percentage for any kind of organization, and Prepaid Legal Services does hold on to an A+ rating with the BBB. Don’t forget you pay to be part of the BBB, but Prepaid is actually making an honest attempt at dealing with the complaints they receive.

I did notice a high amount of the complaints were regarding billing, contract or refund situations, so make sure you check the fine print. With that said, the percentage of complaints is still very low.

What was my impression of the company and why did I not join? I saw an organization that did have a functional service or product. It appeared like something I would have used the last couple of years, if I’d been a part of Prepaid. The price to get started was very low. In my surfing on the internet, I spotted many pages and searches, which indicated they are getting their name out there. Whether good or bad, there
1000
was at least some buzz.

They have an Alexa ranking of about 14,000 as of this writing, which is excellent. The whole concept just didn’t really seem like a lot to get excited about. When examining to see if they were aligned with my core values, I just didn’t get any indication of much in the way of values with this organization.

The real deciding factor though for me, was my impression from the rep. I’ll give the gentleman his due, he was very pleasant. He was friendly, helpful & most significantly, he was candid regarding the business and how it was working for him. He very much needed some of the training I’ve received to get my business off to the right start.

He had a fairly hot lead with me, because I continued looking at plans and ended up signing up for my current network marketing business. After I contacted and talked with him, I never was given a follow up call. This gentleman had all my contact info and neglected follow up to build a relationship with me, and did not make an effort to close the sale. This tells me his training was probably wanting.

I suppose maybe he had so many leads that he did not have time, but our conversation did not convince me of that. I also foun him on Craigslist, which in my experience proved to be somewhat of a waste for the time involved. Craigslist is great, and I use them for some stuff. However, they haven’t been a great supply of qualified leads for MLM, personally.

I hope this assists you somewhat to get through the hype and negativity surrounding the company. If you are looking to get involved with Prepaid Legal or are already, make sure you get some great training. There are incredibly powerful methods of obtaining qualified leads on the web for your Prepaid Legal business. However, you must also have the right skills to take advantage of those leads.
